Brutal Fish Racing Team and KC Motorgroup Ltd (KCMG) will continue to strengthen their relationship next month with a joint effort at the Monza 12H.
The two teams will join forces for the race – the latest round of the pan-European 24H Series – on July 10-11 to run a Honda Civic Type R TCR in the TCR class.
The aim of the entry, which will receive technical support from JAS Motorsport, is to finish on the podium, after KCMG’s Civic ran strongly at the season-opening Dubai 24H; a race halted at one-third distance by bad weather.
Slovakian outfit Brutal Fish Racing Team and Hong Kong-based KCMG worked together in 2019 at the Monza round of TCR Europe to field a four-car line-up, after Team Principals Martin Ryba and Paul Ip struck up a friendship earlier in the year.
This continued in TCR Malaysia earlier this year as KCMG supported Dan Lloyd’s run to second place in the championship with Brutal Fish.
Lloyd will form part of a three-driver line-up at Monza and will be joined behind the wheel by TCR Europe team-mates Ryba and Pepe Oriola.
KCMG, whose vast experience of endurance racing and TCR competition – including a Le Mans 24 Hours victory and major TCR titles in Europe and Japan – will provide the car and the technical background.
Martin Ryba, Brutal Fish Racing Team Principal, said: “It feels great to go racing again and I’m super-happy that KCMG and Brutal Fish Racing Team are back together once more. I want to thank my great friend, Paul Ip, for all the effort he is putting into this event. With Pepe, Dan and the Honda, we are aiming for a podium finish.”
Paul Ip, KCMG Team Principal, said: “After this forced hiatus from motorsport, we are delighted to be back on track with Brutal Fish Racing Team and Honda for the 12H of Monza. We hope this much-anticipated outing yields a successful result. I would like to thank Brutal Fish and my very good friend Martin Ryba for joining KCMG in this joint effort.”
